  The first time I used this shop they put the wrong spokes in my wheel - they all snapped 3 miles into my first ride and it was only through following the warranty process that I was informed that the wrong spokes had been used. I informed Behind the Bikeshed and to give them their dues, they rectified their mistake. I therefore decided to give them a second chance....
  
  I visit the store today in desperate need of a 5 minute job, as my bottom bracket had come lose and needed tightening and I am leaving tomorrow to travel to an event I have been training for for the past 6 months. I had bought a bottom bracket tool to do the job myself, but when it arrived yesterday I discovered that the description of the tool on the website I bought it from was wrong - it was too big for my bottom bracket (website mistake not mine). I explained this to the staff at Behind the Bikeshed, but they were apparently too busy to help me and spent more time explaining why they couldn't assist me than it would have taken them to do the job. I asked if I could borrow the tool and do it myself in the car park and I even offered them £10 to be able to do so (I stress again, that it was a 5 minute job!). Unfortunately this will still not a workable option for the incredibly unhelpful staff in this shop.
  
  I left the shop and took my bike to JUST BIKES around the corner. Again I was told they were very busy, but when I explained my situation the member of staff stopped the work he was doing and spent the few minutes doing the necessary work on my bike. The shop was suitably paid for saving my day.
  
  I am still struggling to comprehend the mentality which led to Behind the Bikeshed not being able to assist a fellow cyclist in a time of need. I am not normally one to turn up at a shop and expect to be seen immediately, but I honestly thought that by explaining my situation they would understand and help out. I was even willing to come back later, but could not wait until tomorrow.
  
  I suggest that Behind the Bikeshed may want to rotate its staff through a 1 month attachment with JUST BIKES, so that they can learn a bit about customer services. After all, it's a competitive market out there and anyone can fill a shop with shiny kit - it's good service which keeps the customers coming back.
